SiteKist Version 3
 Berend Lange wrote on  03.18.2009 in  Functions

In case you wondered why you haven't heard from us for a while : we have been working heavily on SiteKist version 3 which makes the program a lot more userfriendly than it ever was before.

At the moment we all use version 2.1.9 - version 3 shows significant improvements to the WYSIWYG editor, especially for tables and the form-assistant which makes the creation of of multi-functional forms dead easy, including automatic eMail responses.

Stylesheets can also be edited directly in the editor without knowing code.

Generally, we are introducing Drag & Drop, widgets for plugins and a lot of stuff behind the scenes that you'll notice only once you start working seriously in SiteKist. In addition to that, when new websites are created from scratch three pages will be issued automatically in future : 'Home', 'Contact' and 'About us'.

It's only a few more days to version 3 - as usual, once we have uploaded the changes you'll automatically upgrade when you open the program next.

Statistics for your website
 Berend Lange wrote on  03.18.2009 in  Functions

You have probably noticed already that we have revised and expanded our plugin for visitor statistics over the last few days; it is also reacting a lot faster now.

The longer we have been online with our SiteKist websites and the more visitors we have, the longer it took to calculate and display the vast amount of data :

* Pageviews
* Unique visitors
* Returned visitors
* Searchengine robots (spiders)
* Visitor countries
* Referers (where visitors come from)

All this data can be retrieved in detail - individually or combined in any way - for

* every single day (in 24 hour intervals),
* monthly (31 daily intervals) and
* annually (12 monthly intervals)

graphically and numerically for any period of time you choose.

This is what an example looks like :

It is critical for the internet marketer to know how many visitors he has in his online shop, what they look at and where they come from. But even on non-commercial websites you want to know what's going on.

If you haven't paid much or any attention to this aspect of your website yet, have a look at it now in your SiteKist WMS software.

Partner Catalog for Link Exchange
 Berend Lange wrote on  03.18.2009 in  Functions

And here is the next function in the SiteKist WMS already : the new Partner Catalog is an automatic Link Exchange program that everyone can easily activate on his website with SiteKist.

You probably know that any website's popularity with search engines increases when many links on other websites point to it, so that it can be accessed from there with a simple click.

If you want other webmasters to establish links to your website, you have to make it attractive enough for them.

At SiteKist we promote that by offering other providers of products and services around the creation of websites to display their proposition at SiteKist with their logo, a description and a link to their own website ... that's the best kind of advertising there is on the Internet !

In return, we require that these providers establish a link to www.sitekist.com on their website - people interested in website creation will then find a pointer to our website there.

The link exchange program is now a plugin that everyone can freely adapt for his own purposes, like always at SiteKist; when you activate it all forms, functions and reaction pages are set up automatically.

Have a look at SiteKist's Partner Catalog, you'll know what it looks like then - maybe you'll also take the opportunity and put up your profile with us if you have anything to do with creating websites.

Website to Go
 Berend Lange wrote on  03.18.2009 in  Offers

We have revised our page for 'Websites to Go' yesterday.

Originally, this SiteKist offer was meant to be for complex business websites - aimed at the demand for specialised websites, the top end where the programming really gets complicated.

We have noticed, however, that we get the most enquiries by far from people at the other end of the spectrum - newbies who have never established a website before, have no idea of the fundamental structures of an internet-presence and need help there.

If you are one of them we'd like to help - maybe this is just what you need : we offer to create a website for you with the SiteKist WMS, ready to use.

Just have a look : Website to Go

Welcome at the SiteKist Blog
 Berend Lange wrote on  03.18.2009 in  Functions

Welcome at the SiteKist Blog!

Thanks for finding your way here - you won't regret it! This is the place where you'll find all the news about what's developing at SiteKist.

The SiteKist Website Management System really is a fantastic piece of software for everyone who - like us - has something to offer on the Internet. A lot of people have big plans for that but most of them give up sooner or later because of technical barriers that they either cannot cope with or take too much time.

So, whether you're a newbie or an expert ... our computer program makes it a lot easier, faster and cheaper to create and manage websites. We've only been offering it for a short while but there is brisk interest already and we've had some downloads.

We are still in the launching phase and haven't integrated all the plugins yet, but progress ist quick now. We are expanding our own website this way step by step as well - whatever you see there has been created with our own software, of course.

The registration procedure for example needed to be simplified this week : some users overlooked that they had to click on a special activation link to transfer their data; that's no longer necessary now.

So, today we're launching the blog and this is a kind of test for that, too (text formatting, design etc).

Let's see ... I'll be back soon.

Insert thumbnail images
 Berend Lange wrote on  03.18.2009 in  Functions

We have just put a new feature in our WYSIWYG editor :

Right next to the 'insert image' button in the editor, there is now another one to 'insert image with thumbnail'.

A thumbnail is a small image that enlarges either by clicking on it or simply by 'hovering' on it with your mouse - you can choose one of these two options.

Have a look up left here : put your mouse on the winter image !

This makes a lot of sense for picture galeries for example, and I'll use it myself now for screenshots like the one in our last blogpost - with this feature of quickly enlarging images, visitors will be able to see a lot more detail which otherwise is not really identifiable.

The size of the thumbnail as well as that of the enlarged image can be set up individually, by the way.

Try it out on your website or in your own blog.
